Stress Management - Ten Effective Ways to Decrease Stress Resulting From Your Online Business

Many of us decide to work at home to circumvent the many difficulties resulting from the typical nine to five job - issues like an irrational supervisor, too much to do and/or unworkable deadlines.

But, we may soon realize that working at home creates its own stressors.  So, how should we cope with these new stressors?

1.  Create A Comfortable Office At Home

Be sure you have a dedicated workspace, along with all of the required appliances such as telephone, PC, printer, fax, etc . You will need a cosy chair and a solid desk.  You can make your office area more welcoming by seeing to it that you have lots of space, plenty of light - and, if you are a feng shui afficienado, have someone come in and feng shui your space!

2.  Eliminate Pointless Action Items

Go through your Task List and eliminate anything that actually doesn’t fit on the list, or anything that doesn’t definitely need to be completed.  Be rigorous in your actions - remove as much unnecessary effort as possible.  Editing your list will not only save you the time you would spend attempting to perform those tasks - it’ll also save you the strain and physical problems associated with worrying about those unnecessary tasks.

3.  Acquire Required Tools and Equipment

The right tools and equipment make any job much less complicated.  Spend the money to get the basic hardware you need to do your job.  And, if your budget permits, spend some additional money to get the tools that ( while not absolutely mandatory ) will streamline your task and make your life usually much less intense.

Acquire a dependable, automated marketing management system and let computers take care of lead management and order accomplishment activities for you.

4. Employ a Personal Assistant ( s )

Determine tasks that are established, recurring and not among your critical processes.  See about outsourcing them to a remote admin (which is a lot more reasonable than you may think).  Possibilities for outsourcing are article marketing, website design, SEO, backlinking, lead follow-ups, etc.

5.  Build a Support Group

Working from home can become a particularly isolated activity.  Build a powerful support group - this should be a bunch of associates with whom you connect via the web (e.g, forums, discuss rooms ) or a local group in your community or church.  The important thing is to keep in regular contact with folk who are vital to you - and who can share what you are going thru as an entrepreneur.

6.  Control Your Dreams

Don’t expect miracles or overnite success.  Build a formal, or informal, association with a mentor or friend who can help you set practical plans and expectations - and help you stay goal oriented when things don’t go quite the way you need them to go. An online, or work-at-home business, is just that - a business.  As such it requires a n ongoing supply of customers and products and sellers, etc.  Each one of those presents another chance for a difficulty to occur, inflating your daily levels of stress - just like the typical 9-5 career.

7. “Chunk-It”

Your grand and glorious ideas may appear inspiring, but taken as a whole, they can be extraordinarily overwhelming and scary ( e.g., “I wish to be a millionaire” or “I want to retire in 5 years”).  The smartest thing to do with such optimistic goals is to “chunk them,” i.e, break them down into far littler, more controllable pieces and then create a plan to attain each of those sub-goals.

8.  Eat Nutritional Foods

Eat a healthy, nutritious diet rich in fruit and veg.  Reduce or eliminate caffeine ( coffee, black and green tea, cola drinks, and chocolate ).

9.  Exercise

Working out relieves stress, increases oxygen to the brain, and provides a recess from stressful eventualities.

10.  Rest & Relax

Try to take time in your schedule to breathe and do something that you enjoy, even if it is just for a few minutes.

One of the best advantages of a home{-based work-at-home} business is that you are now your own chief - but that’s also one of the biggest causes of stress in your life.  You are now the one individual who has to decide what jobs have to be done, when and by whom.
